Glutathione Serum Formulation Calculator
Calculate ingredient percentages, grams, batch size, and water q.s. for a professional-style glutathione serum formula. Use weight percentage, not drops or volume, for accurate cosmetic formulation.
How Percentage Calculation Works
Cosmetic formulas are normally written as percentages. The complete formula must equal 100%. When the fixed ingredients are selected, distilled water is usually adjusted as q.s. to complete the formula.
Formula: Ingredient grams = Batch size × Ingredient percentage ÷ 100
Formula: Ingredient percentage = Ingredient grams ÷ Total batch size × 100

Sample Professional-Style Formula
This sample is a water-based glutathione serum. It uses glutathione at 1%, niacinamide at 4%, humectants for hydration, a gel thickener, EDTA for chelation, and a preservative system. Distilled water is automatically calculated as q.s.
Manufacturing Steps
Sanitize Equipment
Clean and sanitize beakers, mixer, scale, spatulas, filling tools, and bottles. Wear gloves and work cleanly.
Prepare Phase A
Disperse hydroxyethylcellulose into glycerin or propanediol first, then add water and aloe juice slowly while mixing.
Add Water-Soluble Actives
Add niacinamide, betaine, N-acetyl glucosamine, panthenol, and glutathione below 40°C. Mix gently until dissolved.
Add Preservative
Add preservative according to supplier instructions. Confirm preservative compatibility with pH and formula type.
Adjust pH
Use a calibrated pH meter. Adjust slowly with diluted citric acid or sodium hydroxide solution to pH 5.2–5.8.
Fill and Test
Fill in amber airless bottles or amber serum bottles. Check pH, color, odor, viscosity, separation, and microbial safety.
